Low Power, Ultra-Small Step-Down Micro DC/DC Converter with Integrated Coil
The XCL247/48 is a synchronous step-down Micro DC/DC converter with integrated coil in an ultra-small 3.0 x 3.0 x 1.7mm DFN3030-10B package. A stable and efficient power supply circuit can be configured by simply adding only two ceramic capacitors externally thereby contributing to PCB space saving and the shortening of development time.
Integration of the coil simplifies the board layout and minimises any unwanted radiated noise. The XCL247/48 operates from 3.0V~36.0V and deliver loads up to 600mA. The output voltage can be set in the range of 2.8V to 6.0V using external resistors.
Designed for very high efficiencies at low output loads, with low quiescent current and automatic PWM/PFM mode or F-PWM only mode, the XCL247/48 includes a built in Current Limit Fold-back circuit, adjustable soft start and a power good output.

LDO
XCL247/48
The XCL247/48 Micro DC/DC with built-in inductor can be used like an LDO, and achieves much higher efficiency and subsequently, lower heat is generated, making it ideal for replacing inefficient LDOs.
This is important as increases in load current demands due to the higher functionality of industrial devices makes the heat generated by using LDOs a problem. The XCL247/48 solves this problem and saves PCB space.
VIN=12V, VOUT=5.0V
High Efficiency at Light Loads
Max Duty 100% Supported
Supports 100% duty cycle and maintains a high output voltage even when the input voltage drops.
The XCL247/48 steps down from 12V/24V to 5V and additional DC/DC or LDO are used to generate lower voltages from the 5V rail to power the MCU and sensor(s). Power source sequence control is possible, the PG (Power Good) function can be used to drive the latter-stage IC after the output voltage rises. The XC6138N Supervisor IC is used to monitor the 12V/24V power line.
