The XC9714 Series delivers reliable, high-efficiency power conversion across a wide operating voltage range of 4.5V to 36V. Output voltage is adjustable from 2.5V to 18.0V, supporting up to 2.0A output current with exceptional stability.

Featuring a switching frequency of 800kHz, the XC9714 allows users to select between PWM control and PWM/PFM automatic switching via the MODE pin.  The XC9714 Series offers exceptional versatility, a single part number can be used across multiple power supply lines. The output voltage can be easily adjusted using an external resistor, while the soft-start time can be extended beyond the internal default by connecting an external resistor and capacitor to the EN/SS pin.

A built-in Power Good function continuously monitors the output voltage status, enabling simple and reliable power sequence configuration when combined with the adjustable soft-start feature.

For safe and stable operation, the XC9714 includes multiple protection features, such as current limit, overvoltage protection, thermal shutdown, and Lx short protection.

These ICs support a wide input voltage range, making them tolerant to input line overshoots. For high-current voltage rails, the XC9714 (2 A) is recommended. For lower-current lines, such as gate-driver supplies, suitable options include the coil-integrated XCL247/XCL248 (600 mA) or the XC9704/XC9705 (600 mA). Built-in Power Good (PG) and adjustable soft-start functions provide precise control for secondary-side power sequencing.

The control method can be changed dynamically with the MODE pin.

  • MODE “H” = PWM ⇒ Low noise (For sensors, etc.)
