The XC6230 high-speed LDO regulator with a maximum output current of 2A is small and fast multifunction LDO regulator with an adjustable output voltage and current limit value.
An internal 0.17Ω low ON resistance P-ch Tr. and a stable output voltage with small dropout voltage make these products ideal for post regulators (DC/DC rear-stage ripple removal), various types of microcontrollers, regulators for logic applications, and secondary power supplies. The XC6230 series can also be used in consumer electronics, industrial equipment, communication modules, and electricity smart meters.
In addition to a function that enables the output voltage and current limit value to be set externally and a function that prevents a reverse current higher than the input pin (VIN) from flowing into the output pin (VOUT), a rich variety of protective circuits such as overheating protection (TSD) and startup rush current prevention can be added.
The smallest package is USP-6C measuring only 1.8 x 2.0 x 0.6mm) or larger SOP-8FD package is available

The current limit can be set within the range of 0.3A to 2.5A by changing the value of the external resistor (RILIM).
The output voltage can be set within the range of 1.2V to 5.0V by changing the value of the external resistors (R21, R22). Download calculation sheet for setting the VOUT here
Reverse Current Protection When the output voltage is higher than the input voltage, the reverse current protection function prevents current that flows in reverse from the output pin (VOUT) to the input pin (VIN).
Thermal Shutdown (TSD) circuit is incorporated to protect the IC from overheating. When the junction temperature reaches the detection temperature (150℃), this function forcibly shuts the driver transistor OFF.
Inrush Current Protection When the IC starts, this function limits the current that suddenly flows from the input pin (VIN) to the output pin (VOUT) to charge the output stabilization capacitor (CL). When CL=4.7μF, the rush current is limited to 500mA or less, making it possible to design a safer circuit.
