There are an almost infinite variety of different Industrial applications, which increasingly require sophisticated electronic solutions for managing process control, manufacturing automation, and energy management to name but a few.
Many of these systems draw power from a 12V or 24V supply and the designer must often step-down the Voltage using a DC/DC Converter to efficiency power the system electronics at lower Voltage levels. This is normally a two-stage process with a primary step-down DC/DC doing the initial work and then several secondary POL DC/DC converters are used to distribute the power where needed.
Torex offers various different solutions for industrial applications and below we illustrate a typical power architecture and demostrate how our products can be used.
Using Point of Load Micro DC/DC Converters to power MCU or FPGA from 12V or 24V.
