White LED Driver Step-Up DC/DC Converter

The XC9133 series is a fixed frequency, constant current step-up DC/DC, specifically designed for driving LED’s. Capable of output voltages up to 17.5V, the XC9133 can drive up to four white LED’s in series from an input as low as 3.2V. Alternatively two parallel banks of three LED’s can be driven from a 2.5V supply.

The brightness of the LED’s can be controlled by changing the duty cycle of the external PWM signal, applied to the CE pin. With a 1MHz switching frequency, the XC9133 offers high efficiences using ultra small external components and the very low feedback (FB) reference voltage ensures that any RLED losses are minimal.

The XC9133 also has an additional protection circuit built-in, which prevents any excess or run away output voltage conditions, which may be caused if the LED’s are damaged or disconnected.
