Torex and the European REACH Regulation

What is REACH?

REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals.

The European REACH regulation 1907/2006 came into force on 1st June 2007 and affects all industries.

All manufacturers and importers of chemicals into Europe must identify and manage risks linked to the substances they manufacture and market. For substances produced or imported in quantities of 1 tonne (1,000 kg) or more per year per company, manufacturers and importers need to demonstrate that they have appropriately done so by means of a registration dossier, which must be submitted to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

Do Torex conform to the REACH regulation?

Although Torex use chemicals in their manufacturing process, we don't import substances of more than 1 tonne (1,000 kg) per year so we do not need to comply to the REACH regulation. We will continue to monitor the situation and should we need to register for REACH in the future, we will do so.
